Notices Posted Re: Gas Leak Repair

8/27/2016

Notices have been posted in 26 about a repaired gas leak in the building, and restoration of gas service. A reminder to check that stove and oven knobs are in the OFF position before turning on light switches or using cell phones, etc. Open windows to allow fresh air into your unit as a precautionary measure, if needed.

In a case where the gas has been shut off or goes out, anyone with an old-fashioned pilot light stove/oven must have it relit by a qualified professional to avoid release of dangerous amounts of gas into the air. Contact management with any questions about the kind of stove/oven that you have, and to make sure that AMV has updated emergency contact information.

Also, if a resident contacts Washington Gas about a suspected gas leak, make sure that AMV is also immediately informed. Please do not rely only on an email--call the management company when safely away from the source of a suspected leak.
